The Baldons
The Baldons, comprising Marsh Baldon, Toot Baldon and Little Baldon, are ancient Oxfordshire villages with roots stretching back to the Domesday Book of 1086. Marsh Baldon is famously built around one of the largest village greens in England, while Toot Baldon sits on higher ground, its name derived from the Old English tot (a lookout hill). Historically, the two shared a close agricultural bond under various manorial lords, maintaining a quiet, rural character that remains largely preserved today.
The Baldons Parish Council serves the villages of Marsh Baldon, Toot Baldon, and Little Baldon in South Oxfordshire. The Baldons Parish Council aims to represent the interests of residents and to preserve the environment for the enjoyment of the villagers, visitors and future generations.
The Parish Councillors meet several times a year in the Village Hall. Meetings are open to the public and public participation is actively encouraged. At the start of each meeting there is an open forum during which members of the public can bring any issue of concern to the Council’s attention.
